Whether for a great summer holiday or a great celebration, Special Villas offers a unique range of large properties, 7 in all, from 6 bedrooms (sleeping 12) to 24 bedrooms, (sleeping 48). Owned and operated by my wife and I, these houses were created for special occasions and that is our focus: holidays (particularly multi-generation), birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and conference.

All our houses are beautifully and authentically restored 18th-century country properties, comfortably appointed and highly equipped. En-suite bedrooms, home cinema and sound systems,satellite, wi-fi, well equipped modern kitchens, superb pianos, snooker, large fireplaces and spacious gardens help to create an exceptional experience for you, your family, friends and colleagues of all ages and multiple generations.

The region itself is ideal for bicyclists, walkers, hikers and wine and culture enthusiasts. Add to this private swimming pools for each house, tennis, table tennis, snooker, and for our Gensac houses a 9-hole golf course, croquet, and boules.

We pride ourselves on being able to offer what you want. Our extensive Options List includes multi-menu catering with our own chef, live-in chef, maid service, baby-sitting, VW minibus rental (9-seaters) inc. Airport pick-up saving much holiday time, air/rail transfers, wine-list, use of Steinway and other pianos. We can also offer organised tours of wine chateaux, with access to some of the best such as Haut Brion. We have our own 4-seater Canadian canoes for the Dordogne River experience.
Many Places of Interest
The houses are perfectly situated for those who wish to explore. The wonderful and famous wine village of St.Emilion is 30 minutes away. The beautiful valley of the Dordogne lies to the east, beyond explorable Bergerac. The Atlantic Ocean at Arcachon is stunning. Bordeaux is a beautiful historic city. The Medoc - the greatest wine territory in the world - is 90 minutes away. Lac du Cady, with its sandy beach is 5-20 minutes away. The Chateau of the famous philosopher Montaigne is 10-20 minutes. So much to do - if you wish!
Train: TGV via Paris or Lille takes you, with no stress, to Libourne, 30 minutes away.
Driving: Autoroute 95% of the way, 8 hours + from Calais depending on time of day and year.
Air: Perfectly located between two thriving airports, Bordeaux (60 mins), and Bergerac (25-40 mins).
