DOMAINE DU FAURE

The Setting

Domaine Faure is set in the extreme peace of 20 acres of its own land, in Entre-deux-Mers, one mile from the ancient village of Gensac, ten miles from Ste.Foy la Grande and Castillon and just 25 minutes from the beautiful and historic wine town of St.Emilion. In beautiful undulating wine-growing countryside the Domaine comprise the original Maison de Maitre (Le Faure) and around a large courtyard, the restored wine chai (L’Orangerie) and the chai where the wine barrels and grain were stored (La Musique). The estate looks out over its own beautiful and isolated valley, a natural nature reserve. The estate was bought and restored specifically with the objective of being an exceptional venue for a music festival, and works exceptionally as a 16-24 bedroom facility.

The Houses

Each house is available as an independent holiday rental property (references 3359, 3388, 3395) but each has its different character. Le Faure is a beautiful, traditional maison de maitre with many fine features and original armoires. It is the most rustic. L’Orangerie provides a beautiful dining room able to seat 60 people for meals when desired. La Musique has a most beautiful 200m² salon, whose glory is the rounded beams spanning the width. Each house has 8 en-suite bedrooms and all bed linen and towels are provided. When renting 2 of the houses you are invited to discuss which 2 are best suited.

Services

We have a regular team able to provide a fully catered/serviced option if required. Our chef Georges Gotrand, is exceptional, having had his own restaurant in Bordeaux for many years. In 2004 he recorded a TV programme for Rick Stein.

Outside

L’Orangerie has a 2 acre walled garden ideal for outdoor receptions, Le Faure has a large terrace overlooking the valley, with a pathway down to it. The courtyard is open for communication between the houses, a sheltered and quiet sun trap. There are three separate pools, each well set away from the other. There is plenty of parking space. A new tennis court, croquet lawn and boules court are set in the corner of the grounds.
